I am trying to make the nose cone of a hollow wooden surfboard...www.dandjwoodenboards.com (http://www.dandjwoodenboards.com)

I have been able to cut the ribs and spine (or backbone) of my board, but I'd like to be able to create a 3d structure for the front of the board. I've attached the front half of the nose outline. I'd like to take the rib and get it to stand up at a 90 degree angle on the outline. Any ideas on how to get a 2D shape to stand up with out having to perform the function in a different bit of CAD software and then purchase the STL importer from CW?

I attached the file I am tooling around with...

Make it by hand first in 3/4 stock and scan it. If the flat looking side has any shape to it do that also. Now in Designer lay it out as a 2 sided carve with the more curved side tie back side. On the front side make a cut path to outline your shape but leave 1/4 " gapes to hole the piece in place. Use the 3/16 cutting bit if you have one. For this you could also use the 1/16 carving bit for the raster carving.
