I tried to start a blog on this but, I can't seem to edit it to add more pictures. So, I'll just post up here in the Projects Gallery.

I'm using the CarveWright a lot on this one. So, I thought it would be fun making a video blog (http://youtu.be/bt9tUHGLlhI) of the build. Thanks for looking!

Scroll down for Part 2 and beyond!

Glad to see someone that makes furniture using the machine. Maybe if both of us gang up on the software folks they will update the software to enable us to rotate the grain pattern on the board. My neck is sore from trying to look at my progress running on the horizontal.

Frank,

If you are talking about the board display in designer you can rotate the image file to have the grain run the other way. Got to the carvewright program file/woods1 folder. Select the image file and in the preview window select rotate clockwise or counter clockwise.

Sorry to high jack your post Casino!!

OK. So you rotate the image in the program file but that does not rotate it in the software.

Hey no problem! Learning is what it's all about, really? Right? My 2 cents! I turn off the textures. For me......I just see the pattern better!

See if these explain/show it better..

image 1 is from my C driver program file (carvewright/woods1) showing the wood grain in the normal horizontal postion
image 2 is from same location but with the image rotated clockwise vertically
image 3 is from designer with the board setting with the rotated wood grain vertically. board is set at the normal front rotation.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? I hope there is a part 4 for the finishing touches! That is something that they will always treasure!

Thanks again for the kind comment! But, I'm no pro. Not even close. I'm striving to just being a weekend woodworker!

Well, there is a part 4. But, it's not the finishing touches. Maybe I'm covering too much in these video's. Let me know if I need to cut it some more. Thanks for commenting!

I'm off to this wedding that I've been babbling on about. I won't be able to respond for a couple days.:)

I'm glad you like them! I'm enjoying them too! It's the 4 wire from the circuit board to the drive. It feels tight. But, I guess with all the vibration, it comes loose. That's a fine collector you make, I have to keep that one in mind.

You two are being way too kind! Thanks for the thumbs up! I like to say thanks just for looking. Than means something to this wannabe weekend woodworker. I think we might be able to rap this one up in the next video. All that is left is the lid and finish. I'll work on that today. The list of projects is long. Talking with my wife, it looks like my son's is up next. He's getting ready for a big boy bed now. So, we want to build a chester drawer, desk and bed. So, thanks again everyone. Your input is very encouraging!
