I saw a video about changing the default carving bit (1/16") to something else. It said to go to the board settings and select the pattern bit tab. Once there select another bit from the drop down list. I did this and selected the 3/16 bullnose bit and then clicked OK. I then uploaded the project and went to the machine. After measuring the board length it asked for the 1/16" carving bit as usual. Not what I wanted.

Is this procedure wrong or perhaps there is no way to change the 1/16" carving bit to the 3/16" bullnose?

If a wrong procedure, how can I change to the 3/16" bit for project carving?

Thanks in advance.

Works for me. I changed the carving bit (under board settings - pattern bit) to 3/16 Ball nose and then after measuring the board, it asked for the 3/16 carving bit.

Howdy. I am using 1.182.Then I would re check the setting, and re load the card. It should work.

You might need to make the change before doing the design. I don't know if it is retroactive.

Reopen the mpc in designer, then change the bit to the 3/16 bit. Then save the file. Then upload it. You should be good to go. Might reformat you card to make sure it is clear first.

I do it all the time and it works find
