I just got done with a 2 hour carve and notice when I changed the last bit it was a little warm. It wasn't so hot I couldn't hold it, but it was warmer than usual. I just wondered if there was any thing I should check. I replace the flex shaft spring last week because it broke in 2 places. It is a "C" machine with 50-75 hours on it.

Make sure you do not have excess lube from the flex shaft going into the spindle it will cause a failure. If you do try cleaning it with rag and Q tips from the top after removing the flex shaft.

Call LHR but I believe the CarveTite can run a little HOT until it is broke in.....
But remove the Top Hat and look for Oil like posted above.

Or the larger (bottom) bearing on the spindle is goin bad,, That would cause heat..

I was told once that anything below 120 degrees is ok - I keep an eye on mine with an infrared thermometer.
