Did you get a warning message when you uploaded the mpc? Something like " cut throughs will not be made because of possible interference with the tracking roller"?

I (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?19716-Where-do-you-go-to-get-CarveWright-Project-help&p=171310#post171310)f you want to start from scratch, I would relocate the frame onto a separate board and move it away from the edge, or make the board longer and relocate it. Not sure why this is happening; I too would have expected a warning.

bergerud, the cut is opposite the tracking roller; there should be no issue. I have never had a problem like this.

i moved it on the board away from the edge and it looks like that will be ok i will just have to add 3 more inches to my board, could you tell me about how the ends on the parts that make up the clock face should be sanded ? i didnt know if i should sand the one gap all the way off or why it left that gap on all the ends like that unless its to give you room for tunnung in on the end.

I believe the gap to which you are referring is due to my use of the Outline Pattern tool to create the cut path. I believe the gap is left by the taper of the carving bit. It would have been better if I had made the pattern a bit oversize, then cut it clean with a drawn cut path rather than use the Outline Pattern tool. (That's the way I would have done it now - I reserve the right to get smarter.) It's been a while since I built one myself, but if I recall correctly I just sanded a small amount of material to get a good fit. I would trial fit the pieces and remove just a bit of material at a time. It's easy to mess up the angle and then the parts will not be square with one another.

Okay guys here is something else to look for. Another user had emailed us about an issue that he was having with this same project not leaving the manual tabs on the gears to hold them in place. He was using a piece of 1/4 inch ply from one of the "Big Box Stores". Turns out the ply that he was using was NOT a true 1/4 inch thick, but was about.205 inches thick instead...

Anyone see where I am going with this?
