Does anyone have a good source for the actual middle eastern Arabic fonts?

do you need anything specific-- as in calligraphy? I read and write (and speak) Arabic and may be able to help with a DXF of a hand drawn calligraphy. Otherwise, here is a good font site. Just make sure you use a font viewer to see which symbols are for which letters.

The real trick with these fonts is actually getting the characters you want. To do this (in windows 7) go to the start button and type "character map" into the box. You will then be able to pull up the font and then you click on each letter and then use the "select" and "copy" buttons below the character map. Then click on your project with the text tool and bring up the font you are using and click "control-V" to paste in your characters. Then (and only then) will the arabic (or any symbol) work.

Hope this helps,
Lawrence

I don't know if they have any "Arabic" fonts but, www.letterheadfonts.com (http://www.letterheadfonts.com) has some great sign-making fonts. They're not free though!
