bit touch plate

Does anyone know how to raise or lower the bit touch plate

I think the only way is to bend it. Is it horizontal or does it bend up a bit. I have noticed that different machines vary a little in bit plate height. I do not think the height is really important. Why do you want to change it?

I just saw your other post about the bit plate moving 1/8". That's not right. Has the plate slipped down off of the pivot pin?

Be carful all I see is the spring holding the bit plate. Try adusting the plate by moving the spring up.

There should be a C-clip on the bottom of the pin. The spring does not hold the bit plate on. Even if the C-clip is gone, the bit plate cannot come off because it hits the flat locking bar below it. Maybe use a small mirror to look under the pin for the clip.
