Well all... I've been using shop scraps to make some more of the ornaments. I tried my hand at painting them and must say that painting is a technique that I will have to keep practicing on before I'm anywhere near Sharon's level of expertise!
At any rate, here they are-- no useful boards were harmed in the making of these ornaments-- the largest scrap used was 6 x 13 or so. I used white oak, red oak, mahogany, mesquite, and maple... not that any of that matters as I ended up painting most of them :)
Carve time for each one was around 25 mins.... so needless to say I made a few for the neighbors too as they put up with my carvewright screaming away for the 8 hours or so it took to carve these.
