Is there an easy way to rout a region? For example if I want to make a rectangle say 4 x 6 inches and 1/4 in. deep, I know I can make numerous parallel lines spaced a little less than the diameter of my plunge routing tool and I could accomplish what I want. This would be a lot faster than carving a region. But, if I want to make an oval, for instance, it takes a lot more work in designer, still possible though. I am surprised that there is no choice of cut or route a region like the carve a region button in designer

Just a thought -- how about repeated oval passes with a 1/2" bit,
4 ovals set at .250" should do it, with passes set at .125" each
I added the 5th oval just to show the measurement 6x4 inches.
