While carving 55 coaster blanks with a carved circle of 3' diameter, the thought occured to me can the softwre be used to carve a circle ithin a circle. I better explain. Draw a circle of 6" diameter and within it another circle of 3" diameter. Now can you set up a carve region of just the area between the two circles? I've tried without success.

Yes.. it can be done. This thread gives some hints on how to accomplish it... althought it is a lot more nested circles of varying heights.

I'm not sure if this what you want, but you can draw a 6" circle, a 5.5" circle and a 5" circle make sure all are centered both ways. Then asaign a 1/2" flush cut bit to the 5.5 circle. This will crate a 1/2" circle groove btwn both circles. Using the drill fuction or asigning circles at different dias. will create a circle in a circle with out carving them.

Does this look like what you are trying to do.

I made a six inch circle and set the depth at .25 - then a 3 inch circle, assign carve region and set the depth to zero
