Does anyone know if I need to use Loctite on the screw that holds the lever and the two connecting rods in place? Also, do I need to use any silicon lube on the oring that is under the washer/plate? Thanks!

some one may know the answer but most long time users do not use the locking lever at all.

Yup-- I was going to say "where's the locking lever?" I've used mine maybe once or twice

I've never used mine at all, I think it was "Al Who" that said he never used his when I was first interduced to the CW machine and ever since then it stuck in my mine and when I finally got mine I never used it. I think it was an Idea but just an over kill on the design.
Just my 2¢ worth.

I think the last time I use mine was in December of 2006 -- a few weeks before I joined the CW Forum

Mine is kind of hidden by the DC so I rarely remember to reach under there and pull it out.

I'm a new user of several months and I use my locking lever all the time. But come to think about it I never knew I didn't have to.

Yes, it was a Great Idea.... Locking the head.... The fine thread jacking screws and 4 smooth vertical sliding posts do an excellent job... After forgetting to use it and seeing no problem I quit using it in 2007.
IF you un plug the machine and lay it on it's back, muffler side, I bet the screws "chime in"....
