Getting ready for Halloween. Carved from 1 1/2" pink foam insulation, sealed, and painted with rattle can paint that looks like stone. I think it turned out pretty well. Now it looks like I need to make a few more, because everyone who sees it wants one. :)

What do you seal the foam with so the paint does not eat he pink foam?
I tried that once and the paint ate the foam

I used Latex Paints on mine and let the grand kids add the texturing and details,
they used acrylic paint and markers over the latex last year,
a little messy -- but no problems and lots of fun.

You can use a polyurethane on it first and the paint wont eat the foam. However, I found that having the paint eat some of the foam gives it a cool old/weathered look.
