I wanted to share what I just read on Kathy Thompson's (Terry's wife) facebook page.
"Been back at the ER today (for the second time). Terry has an intermuscular bleed in his thigh, causing it to swell from his upper thigh down to his toes and be extremely painful. Hopefully, it has stopped now and his body can try to absorb all the blood. The Dr. said it could take as long as 10 days for this to get better once it has stopped bleeding. Physical therapy is on hold until the pain subsides. Boy, what is next? I feel so bad for him. He is in so much pain."
If I hear more I will let you know. I might try calling him tomorrow.
Let's send our prayers for a speedy recovery.

This was just posted by Kathy.
"Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Just knowing finally what the problem was helped a lot. Now we know what needs to happen next. We wait a while and then move on with the therapy and every thing else. I think this is what they call a "bump in the road". Terry is strong physically and mentally and will deal with this with flying colors. Thanks again."

Kathy called me today and Terry is doing much better. Terry had hip surgery that went well but the intramuscular bleed was the problem. The pain is going away and now he just hoping for the swelling to go down. His hip feels great and he should be back to his old self soon. They both thank you for your concerns, support and prayers.

Thank you everyone.
Tom I always knew you were a great guy and a genuinely "Good Person". thanks for the phone call. I have to say I am amazed at the speed of social media!

Actually what happened was a simple total hip replacement. The surgery went well, however due to several factors, doctors out of town, etc. we did have a couple of small problems. I think everything is back on track now and progressing well.

Thanks again.

Lets see now, simple + total hip replacement? Not how I would descibe the procedure!

Glad to here things are back on track and a speedy recovery!

Glad you are mending well Terry and our prayers remain with you.
I think we were all taken a bit off guard by your description above. Struck most of us like doing a simple double-sided carve on the CW on four sides of the same wood billet. Heal well and smoothly Sir.

Hi Terry,

Seems I am late to the thread, but wanted to throw in my best wishes for a fast and full recovery.

I hope they at least upgraded you to a nice bionic version for your trouble :)
