I'm using rough wood, not smooth or planed. I think I may need a jig to place it in. If I have a 2.5" x 25.5" board, how would I go about making a jig for it and what materials should I use?

I'm using rough wood, not smooth or planed. I think I may need a jig to place it in. If I have a 2.5" x 25.5" board, how would I go about making a jig for it and what materials should I use?My "Download" link, below, has a PDF titled "Multi-Use Sled" which may give you some ideas. It is made to accommodate various sizes of stock using holding blocks.
