Hello Fellow Carvers,
Here is a Letter_Opener I did for a friend of mine at the Toyota Dealer Ship I go to.
How dose it look, to all of you.

very nice Robert, I tried to carve a couple but they didnt want to seperate it would splinter my wood when trying to get it out after carve. , used the .370 depth setting and the wood was 3/4 ,cherry wood

I have found that to happen a bit as well skeeterman. The solution I found was to take a small knife, and simply cut through the tabs, and then sand them off. I used an old serrated knife (old steak knife), and it worked well.

i havent carved the one with the tabs as of yet, i have been trying with the origonal mpc.

Okay. Same principle should work. As long as you can get a hole started, you should be able to cut it out with some type of knife. I have used everything from an exacto knife to piano wire (hey it worked...)
I have not carved the letter opener, but I have carved several other items using the same method. It works, but it is kinda finicky...
