Can anyone tell me what the guidelines might be for length of bits? For my 6o degree bit I've been using the blue colored bit in the attached photo. It's 1 7/8" long tip to tip. I bought the yellow 60 degree bit (2 1/2" long), but I'd like to know if the CW will work properly with this longer bit. Any thoughts folks?46384

Thanks,
Rocky

The one that I'm using I got from LHR. Originally it had a quick chuck adapter on it but it has been removed for use in my carvetight chuck. It measures 1 3/4" tip to tip and I use a rubber spacer in the carvetight. I'm guessing that the most important measurement is from the tip to the shoulder of the chuck. You may have to remove the spacer and see if it will fit up tight to the shoulder of the chuck. If not you may have to shorten the shaft of the bit a little.

I use one similar with no problems. Just choke up on the shaft to keep the exposed length shorter than the cutting bit.
