Yeah! I remember those! I actually have seen a few around, but they are cheaply made using plastic. In fact, the one that I seen was only about a month old, and the mallet handle was already bent and jacked up.

I believe I had one when I was little, (about 23 years ago). Not sure what it was made of though.

I like the design. Simple and bear-y beautiful.

The toy take me back to a long long time ago when I once was a child.

Kinda reminds me of my childhood, but my kids would say that I probably hammered Saber Tooth tiger teeth in to a rock or something.

Very nice! I love the idea... but now I'm thinking round pegs for the nieces and nephews I like... and square ones for the ones who annoy me. (Did i say that outloud???) Of course I like them all the same.......

I never had toys like that when I was a little kid, But I do remember My Dad handing me a 16 oz claw hammer, a bag of nails,
and telling me to build a fence around my mothers garden to keep the rabbits out --- if I wanted vegetables on the table come dinner time.

Sorry to say, but the fence, garden, house, and most of the neighborhood is long gone,
all vacant lots now including the Detroit Public School I first attended down the street.
All just memories and a few photos now ---- as time goes by.

I found my old house and elementary school still there on Goggle Earth. But they removed my front porch and a wearhouse of something is behind the house where the apple trees and chicken coop where. I started the second grade there in about 1946. That was in Warwick RI. I don't remember if I had one of those toys, buy my kids did in the 1960s - and it was made of wood.

I didn't have that in the 1970s, but it is sure cool in 2011.

Excellent idea and a reminder of the quality of times past
