Latest Litho Project From the Tinderbox

Here is the latest Litho Project that I have completed. I was Ask to create something for the MAG Commanding Officer's Change of Command. It is made of Cherry that I brought back from TN and re-sawed down to 5/8th thick, The Center Lithophane is is 10in tall and is back-lit with LED's. The two side pillars are about 18in tall with a rope border detail around them with the eight squadron's Patches that make up our Marine Air Group 31. The center hanging plaque was made using Centerline Text and the Router table along with the challenge coin holder located just below it. I finished it using Tung Oil and Johnson's wax to bring out the natural color of the Cherry. I love working with the corian material and finding different ways to use it.

There is a lot of really great work in that piece....angles are all correct, spacing is first rate, combination of techniques all fit well, final fit and finish terrific. That's really first rate.
