cant make carve region with shape

trying to make a carve region out of this shape but it shows no options for this when highlighted, its gotta be somthing simple but for the life of me i havent been able to do it, looked in past tips and tricks and it didnt help unless i missed it.

the upper left and upper right corner points are not attached. use the "toggle non endpoints" tool to see them. Did not need to move them much to make the connections.

thanks Floyd. knew it was simple, thought i looked at that. feel like a dufus today but i guess i feel that way many days, lol
