View Full Version : ERROR 246/Z Axis Stall

I just recieved my machine, had problems with putting in the bit at first. Now I get an error message that states...error 246 Z Axis Stall. I have no idea what this means. The owner's manual that comes with the machine has no information in it about codes and errors. Can someone help me?

Call CarveWright (1-713-473-6545) and have them walk you through the fix.

The company is closed now and I have been trying to figure this thing out and would really like to know how to fix it tonight. Do you know what to do? It took me four weeks to get this toy after paying for it and I almost didn't get it today. Can you not help me?

Thanks Bob, I read a couple of postings that stated to man handle the bit and it seemed to work. The machine is actually carving something now. Thank you again.

I am in the same boat. Looking for an answer that will fix this machine. I don't have much money. I took just about all I had to buy this thing. I bought it with the hope I could make at least a little money. And now it just sits there. I need to get it fixed. So can anyone share a good fix. No more guesses !!

In the boat with those having problems with Y/Z. Attempted to load a piece yesterday to check piece dimensions and received a display that stated Error 246 Homing Sensor Blocked. Have sent the trace error and have emails to CW. Awaiting reply. Machine or software/firmware error ???? Hours on machine 14:35. Just purchased a piece of walnut as was hoping to carve a child profile of my wife for her birthday soon. Otherwise the machine has performed flawlessly.

If you upgrade to 1.12 the home errors will cease.

If your waiting for a reply to your "Trace error" that you sent, you'll never get one. I asked them if they responded to these and they said "NO". Don't even know why they have that feature if they don't do anything. Now I just delete them.
