Just finished putting this together. Legs and top were carved on CW. Multiple pass cut outs resulted at least one bad cut and eventually a broken bit.

Great Project! You should sell it in the PatternDepot!

The cutting would have been perfect for the new 3/16" cutting bit.

I would actually consider doing this. It is my interpretation of an online plan but I'll will have to do some serious tweaking and prepare a PDF to go with it before I would do that.

That is a great chair. I have made several garden chairs and some aderondac, but that looks like a more useful chair. I wouldn't mind eight or ten of those in my shop for classes.

what kind of wood did you use? I'm done with the CW design of my arindonak chair but still undecided on the wood

This chair I used premium pine from HD. The Anarondak chair that is in my album is made from full 1" thick redwood. I thought about using cedar for the Kodiak chair but was afraid that it would be too soft to use for the legs.

That is a nice looking chair. Similar to the ones on my deck but they are pretty well shot. Probably will replace them with more of the Kodiak chairs as they will be easier to store.

Here is another folding chair plan where carvings could be added and is simple to make. The size of the top slat could be resized and a name could be added. The legs could be made with the CW Unit and carvings added.

Just ran across this one. It's the same as the Kodiac chair. It's a free PDF plan from the Yellawood guy. www.greatsouthernwood.com (http://www.greatsouthernwood.com) then scroll down to build it link. Theres lots of projects for indoors and out. They call this chair a "Daytripper Chair". Click on the Build it link .You can print 22 projects or just look at individual ones.
