At the conference HDU was mentioned and demonstrated as a material to use as an alternate for wood signs and a cheaper way of trying a design. But where in Northern California can I get some? I don't see it at Lowes or Home Depot where I thought people said you can get it from. Anyone know? Or is it mail order?

Cheers

Dave

I got my samples from a company in Salt Lake City but they were actually sent from:

Sign Arts Products, Corp.

HDU Foam --- "alternate for wood signs and a cheaper way of trying a design" -- not really
The Pink or Blue Insulating foams from Lowe's or Home Depot are pretty economical,
but the price of HDU like you get from companies SignFoam are a little steep for most Hobby type carvers, a bit over $200.00 a 4' x 8' Sheet.
A quick Forum Search HDU Foam or SignFoam will give you lots of info on both. Like this one October is coming quick... (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?15974-October-is-coming-quick...&highlight=HDU+Foam)

Thanks. I meant the pink stuff. All I found was the rolls of the "Pink Panther" material - not good for carving :-)
