The rosary boxes are made of Cypress, Maple, Poplar and some unknown wood. The guy at the local lumber yard said he didn't know when they got this wood or what it was called, but it had a very good wood grain. One thing I know it put some heat on the carving bit after I had made 2 of the boxes.
Thanks Gene for showing me your boxes at the conference.

No I used Earth magnets, they are very strong and hold the lids on well.

Very nice, I agree with others, Rock or Curly Maple! I have a piece in my shop I bought for turning on the lathe, damm thing was so hard after a few catches I took it off and it still sits on the shelf waiting for some other use.
Do you have those earth magnets inset?
