I've looked in the CarveWright pattern shop, this forum, and CWPatterns.com but I can't seem to find a nice simple border pattern. I'd like to carve one that is about 1 inch wide and replicate it to about 36 inches long. Can anyone point me to some options?

Thanks

Since you stated no specific theme, I would suggest that you begin by going to the "Basic" section of the Designer pattern library. You may just find corners and others that meet your need.

Many could jump in with something, but it would be nice if you gave them a hint as to the theme you are looking for.

Thanks for your response. After reading your response, I realized that I did a poor job of explaining what I need. I built a roll top desk and I want to add a horizontal trim (border was a poor choice for me to use) on the sides between the legs just below the desk writing surface.

Thanks,

You might want to do that on a router table with molding bits?

This WEB page shows lots of molding styles. PTN’s could be made from these images and carved with the CW unit.

Thanks, Terry. I think I'll go with the oak leaf pattern. When I tried searching that store, I didn't see this pattern.

Rocky, that is because the pattern search feature is totally useless and always has been. I can't understand why LHR even uses it.

There is a combination of things that is wreaking havoc with the search function. We are trying to get it fixed, but its more time consuming than originally thought.

Terry, I'm glad to hear that it's not just me that can't find things on that LHR site. Just recently when I was looking for a pattern, in the pattern area, the search displayed non-relevant patterns along with various router bits.

The search feature uses keywords. Unfortunately, when things get submitted to the store, they are allowed to use whatever keywords they like. So, that is exactly what is done, and it creates havoc.

Thanks for the feedback, Alex. Sounds like there should be a separate data base table for patterns so when there is a "pattern search", the query only goes to that table.

Ideally, yes.

Actually..... IMHO.....
You should go back to the old pattern depot. since using the search feature in the pattern depot link, pattern sales have gone down considerably, for everyone I'm sure. Since most pattern sales come from customers browsing the patterns and making spur of the moment purchases, everyone I think has lost sales including LHR. Now people who use your pattern depot link have to know what they are looking for. Even then 99% of the patterns don't come up.

Its because of the keyword issue, again.

anyone that submits anything can set their own keywords, including keywords that don't have anything to do with said item. I could submit a dog pattern, and for the keywords, i could potentially put anything. I could put television, and every time someone searched for television, my dog pattern would pop up.

The system hasn't changed, the search feature still functions the same way, but with the big keyword mess, it has caused significant problems for all.

then there should be a standardized set of keywords applied to the pattern depot ... other sites, like Etsy, have made this process work

http://www.etsy.com/help/article/187 items are categorized through a series of Drop down menus .... I'm not saying this is the answer, but I know their site search works pretty well

Google's stock price would not be anywhere near $485 a share if its search algorithms worked like the pattern depot. This all surprises me since LHR's Designer Software is so nice.
