Over hang pattern font help needed.....

I have a pattern with an overhang and am trying to use centerline text, I've done it before but can not for the life of me remember how to do it. I can only get the text to show if it remains raised. Any help would be greatly appreciated .... Thanks....Frank

A couple of ways. If you have the Conform software use it. It works great. If not try setting the text to "Merge subtractive". Thats what I did in the mpc pictured.
