I've been wanting to make a plaque for my brother-in-law who was in the Army as a helicopter mechanic over in Nam. Does any one have a pattern of a helicopter, I'd prefer something military but any chopper would work. Thanks

Is vs. was. The Cobra was an Army heli until replaced by the Apache. The Marines still fly the Super Cobra. My brother spent his years in the Army as a Cobra mechanic....

Thanks for the input. I think I will leave it up to my brother-in-law, at least this gives him a choice.

Find a Huey, I would say it is the one most people image when they think about helicopters and Vietnam.
Cobra and the OH-58 A and C models would also be from the period.
The Oh-58D is from the late 80's as is the Apache.

I am more partial to the OH-58d since that is what I worked on when I was in the Army;.

Thanks for posting the 58D pattern gredsolano

I asked and sure got a lot more than I ever expected. This sure give him a lot of choices. I want to say thank you guys very much for all the information and files. I served during that time but I was in the Navy stuck in Florida, was in boot camp when Wood Stock was going on, sometimes wished I would have went there first... just for the history making of Rock & Roll... You guys are great.

It is correct that Canada did not fight in Vietnam. They did go in in 1973 to uphold the Paris peace agreement.
The Cobra was used by the army.
The Kiowa Warrior is basically a Bell Ranger, with a lot of neat stuff on it.
