Very interesting 1/32 inch tapered ball. Have you ever tried one of these? I think I will buy one and see if the machine carves finer with it.

never tried. But it might make a difference at the highest quality setting.

I quick reminder The CW cuts around .805" deep " add .100" or so for piercing then add room for wood that could be a little thick and you will need a bit around 1.20 LOC" with bur" . Anything smaller could damage your chuck bearings and flex shaft.

I quick reminder The CW cuts around .808" deep " at least for for now untill LHR cuts that down in the future making the machine worthless " add .125 for piercing then add room for wood that could be a little thick and you will need a bit around 1.20 LOC. Anything smaller could damage your chuck bearings and flex shaft.

I thought the machine will not let you carve deeper than .808, regardless of piercing or not.

Ok I checked the CW bits it's around 1.00" 1.20" including the burr so I thik that would be fine.. I been tripping out on a bit I was giving that had a LOC of .76" and it burns...

I remember the original CW bit had a LOC of .75. Later I bought one with LOC of 1.0. Since then I have been using Jeff's bits with LOC of 1.1. I do not think I have never used the top 0.3! Is LQ right? Does piercing carve deeper?
