Hello all,

I'm thinking about making the plunge. I downloaded the software and am checking out the tutorials. I used to work on AutoCAD and SolidWorks so I'm familiar with drawing on the computer.

I was looking at a CW as a way to add some detail and personalization to some of my work. I would like to do the following:
1) Engraving words on flat work, like personalization.
2) Add carved details to work, like a pattern around a rail on a chest, or carving the face of some crosses that I make with some detail.
3) Be able to make small router templates for inlaying woods and repeat shapes or making the inlays themselve... that would save me some time.

I have alot of questions on how the CW works, some are probably very simple and would be easily figured out if I owned one, but before I plunk down 2K I want to make sure it does all that I want it to do.

Thanks,
Derek

Derek, the carvewright will do that and more, the main problem I have with owning one is that everyone I know wants me to carve them something, of course they want it for free.
I give away 80% of the things I carve
