The size of the pattern is 12" long x 7" wide.

the board is 19" long x 7" wide

I select stay on board and when it scans the board it shows 7.****/7.******

it also ask if i want to scale to fit.
I stop take board out blow the machine out and wipe off the lens under the cutting head.

same results

It is the width measure that is your problem.. Most likely is your board is narrower than what your project calls for..

A little trick is to add a bit of tape to the far side edge of the board to make the machine think the board is wider... or change the project board width to just under 7"...

didn't work
now I am getting 12/12

I even cut another board and did the measure function 36*7*.75 and it matched perfectly.

even another pattern I ran is showing the 12/12/ measurment

The easiest thing to do is to change the width to 6 7/8" and if you know that you have the extra 7" (I usually use 8" to be sure) answer no to stay under the rollers, then yes to center the project.

Got it figured out I guess.
I was choosing yes to stay under board #1
I selected no option #2 and it worked.

jaustin, best thing to do is have your board slightly larger than the virtual layout plus at least 3 5/18 inches on each end and you won't have problems with scaling. For exp: project is specifically 20x10, if using sled or just the board, add 3 5/8 in on each side to make the actual board 27 1/4 instead of 27-that adds over 3 1/2 on each side so the board stays under the rollers. Then when the CW asks if you want to stay under the rollers you can say no (but it will) and then center on board-yes, this prevents scaling and have a happy carve. TIPS AND TRICKS here about scaling- http://www.carvewright.com/2010CWweb/downloads/tips/CarveWrightTips&Tricks_Mar09.pdf-. Width isn't as important as length but 1/16 or 1/8 larger is better than too small.
