I know they are on one of the other forum posts but I guess a lot of people do not see that post who are new. So we have added the PTN format to our free model downloads at http://www.vectorart3d.com/store/?fuseaction=freemodels
You do need to create an account (or login) to download these models.
Choose the PTN format for download (CarveWright Pattern).
If you are not familiar with working with the PTN format in the CarveWright Designer software then here are the basic steps:

1 Make sure the file you downloaded from us is unzipped so you can see a PTN file extension.

2 Open the CarveWright Designer software and create a "New Project"

3 Look for an icon which looks like a Blue Sea Shell (18th icon from the left). That icon activates the "Pattern Tool" (you can also hit the "P" key to activate this option).

4 This will bring up a menu on the right of the screen.

5 RIGHT mouse click in that area over the word favorites and select "Import" from the menu

6 Now you can browse to find the file you downloaded and hit "Open".

7 You will see the file is added to the list there and has the word "STL File" next to it (you can rename it by Right mouse clicking on it and selecting "Rename").

8 To use the file you can now just drag it into the work area of your file and then use the normal options to re-size and position the part.

Hope this helps, sorry if it repeats information available elsewhere. I have had a number of emails recently on this subject so wanted to post this info. All our current 3D models and future additons and 3D collections are all avilable in the PTN format.

Thanks, James

For the Mac users, you'd control click on Favorites to get the import box. You can also get the lily & fleur here is a zip file. http://www.carvewright.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=336
