HI all I need a little (Lot) of help.

I am making a friend of mine a small keep sake box. In the bottom of I carved a rose in a .25 carve region. I would like to fill the carve region with acrylic (or whatever I need to use)so that the rose will still be able to be seen, but the will be protected.

kind of like the table tops you find in some sports bars. where that have junk in the table with a very thick clear coat on top.

Can any one tell me what I need to use and any ticks to using it.

Thanks

You can also get the acrylic at hobby lobby or michaels craft shops or probably any of the craft type shops.

The bar top coating is an epoxy resin product--Mirror Coat is another brand to look for. I used it to coat cafe tables in my wife's coffee shop. It's a bit pricey and I'm not sure the smallest size it comes in. Since you'll only need a little, I'd be tempted to just fill the area with a clear 2 part epoxy glue--I fill knots with it frequently.
