Has anyone made or attempted to make a pattern for an iPhone Case?

I saw a couple of 2-piece cases on ebay and toyed with it for about a month. 10+ test carves later I lost patience. Just couldn't get the pieces to slide together properly for a solid friction fit. It can be done, but I was thinking about mass-production and the per-case time was far too much for me.
