My granddaughter graduated to a "big girl" bed, but needs a little help getting in. I was asked to make a stool and came up with this design.

41159 41160

I used a sled for the sides, so the sides project is oversize. I'm sure you can adjust it to your own preferences. The top is pretty straightforward; I did not use the CarveWright for it. I used biscuits to join the pieces.

If I make another one, I think I will use a two-sided carve for the sides.

My Youngest Granddaughter "Emma" will be makenig the transition to "a Big Girls Bed" this coming Spring,
and will need a stool like the one you've designed -- thanks for posting and sharing.

DickB,

Your granddaughter has a wonderful bed stool now, one that will not be found in your local store.

What a wonderful carving and finish on this project.

Great design.

OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!! JOB on all levels.

That is very nice. I adapted a more shaker style I had built before the Carvewright days to a project. I have the .mpc but have not had the need to carve it yet. Dick's is much prettier than mine. A little girl should love it, especially since Grandpa made it for her. I know, I have 11 grand-kids.
