I used a Dillion torch heated the heads of sscrew up and backed them out with ease.
Here is a site to tell you about the Dillion http://www.cut-like-plasma.com/dillon_torch.htm
This did not hurt the casting because the heat is very local only takes about 2 seconds to free up lock tight on screw I used a 0 tip.

Interesting tip. But you sure could buy an awful lot of screws for $400+. This does sound more like a product ad than and honest to goodness tip. If I'm wrong please accept my apology.

Mine were only hard once. Then I replaced the standard screws with Alan head bolts and problem solved. I think they were about 15 cents a piece.

That sounds like a great idea. Are the screws metric, and do you remember the thread count?

Hi Dan
Yes the screws are metric. I don't remember the particulars, I just took the old ones to Home Depot and bought a few that matched.
