Wires going into back of z-truck

I have read the tips and tricks on how to change out the z-truck, but it doesn't mention anything about the small flat cable going into the back of the z-truck. If I change to the carvetight z-truck, does this do away with this cable . Do I just unplug it and throw it out? One part of it goes to the z-truck plug for the probe,which I know can be changed over to the other connector.

Yea you do not need it.. for the probe you will use the hood input...
