409804097940978A week ago LostintheFrost asked for some doll house window help. AJK was good enough to provide him with a pattern. http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?17023-Dollhouse-window-help&highlight=window

That inspired me to make a doll house for my grand daughter. My daughter really likes crafts and she had asked me to make a doll house and leave it unfinished so she and her daughter could paint it and decorate it.

I used the CarveWright for the roof, front windows and door, and both side windows. I plan to use it for making some doll house furniture after the holidays.

Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!

Jim,
It's really nice to be able to share in seeing a family keepsake from it's beginning. Yes, please do keep us informed with pictures as your Granddaughter decorates what will surely become one of her "cherished treasures." Well done Sir and a Merry Christmas to your whole family.

Thanks everyone and a special thanks to Hilda for sharing that window pattern as it was the catalist that I needed to get this done.

My Grand daughter loved it and after all the gifts were opened she spent the rest of the evening playing with her new house. I noticed the stairway was a big hit with her as every little person that she played with had to go up the stairs.

I will post pictures as they paint and decorate. As I get time to design and carve various fixtures I will share them also.

I designed the pattern for the roof. It's on my laptop and I will share the mpc tonight.

Here is the mpc that I used for the roof. Once carved I spray painted the whole roof with grey primer, then red primer, and finally black paint. I then randomly sanded to leave the look of real shingles.
