Has anyone tried scanning a turning and then running it
It seems this could be done since the cw carves up to 1" thick you could do a 2" turning, scan one side then carve the turning by making a jig to hold the turning blank so it can be rotated 4 times and repete the program 4 times.
This could be something for the cw people to work on too
Put a small motor on the end of the turning, and program the head to just move up and down as the spindle rotates and advances forward.

Dan,
That would also allow for true 3D undercuts and reporduction. Wow. Things to come???? <g>

I think the possibilities are out there.
I think now we could even make fluting on turnings by simply making a holder for the turning and indexing the head.
Have you tried the repeat feature from the keypad ?
This would be one place we could use that --- carve something on a turning rotate turning to the next index location and repeat.
