Around the end of next January, I will install a new CNC router at work.

We bought the 6090 model (24" X 36" X 4"Z) with the 2.2Kw water-cooled spindle. $2900USD for the whole thing, includes a set of bits for engraving and relief carving, hold-down clamps, etc.
Will post comments about this machine.

Doug, did you check their laser engraver? check the link in my original post, they have a selection. No idea about the price, but if it's anything like their cnc router, could be interesting.

Pratyeka,

No.. I didnt!! But did look at it now. Let us know what you think about the machine when it is up and running. I have heard horror stories about cheap lasers from china, but dont have any first hand experience.

We received the machine this week. Still waiting for the electrician to install 220V outlet in the shop.
So far, my impressions are good with the construction pf the machine. The table frame is cast iron supported by welded 3" steel square tubing. 20mm linear bearing tracks for the axis, 25mm precision ballscrews for the X and Y and 15mm precision ballscrew for the Z. Moon's stepper motors, 400oz/ft. Pendant controller with internal memory, 2.2kw variable frequency control spindle with standard Er-20 collet. Table is covered with aluminium T-slot track, 4" apart. The electronics cabinet has a hinged cover on the side of the machine, spacious and well built. all electrical connections are hot glued at the terminals to guard against vibration.
Will post pics later this weekend.

I've been looking at these machines for some time myself. How much did the shipping/taxes/and other misc. fee's end up costing? Also, was it shipped to the nearest seaport or right to your shop.

Shipping was around $450, delivered at the shop. I don't have access to the duties and taxes, but can't have been much.

I have to take new pictures because those from my cell phone are too fuzzy.
So far I have done a couple of quick parts in acrylic and the precision is within 0.005"
I will post a detailed report on this machine on my blog soon and will post a link here.

I tried to post on your blog, but I could not. Anyway, you just can't seem to beat the price on these machines out of China.
I can't say I'm impressed with the casting of the Z carriage and spindle mount. Was this machine bought thru an ebay seller?

It was bought direct from the manufacturer. If you check their website, they have a wide range of models.
The frame parts may not look sexy, but they do the job.
