View Full Version : Calibration Confusion!

I had some mis-alignment on a couple of 2-sided carves and since I changed belts a couple of months back I decided to check all of my calibrations again.

1- Thickness passes
2- Calibration passes
3- Manual X calibration is not working. I measured the board, 33.625, I know book says 36 but it measures consistently .111 longer. I subtracted 3.500 units from the default 889.984 making the new setting 886.484 and it then measured longer 3 times at 33.854/33.861/33.850

What am I missing? Subtracting from default should have measured lower.
Thanks for any knowledge and assistance.
Bill

try updating the software to 1.176, flash the card with the new firmware as the cal belt program has been simplified. if you done this, just play with the number until its right your close..

also if the board is slipping ,you have a bad x gear, or dirty AUX and o ring this will add to the issues.

one quick way to check for correct table pressure is to lift up on the wood after you tightened the table if the wood moves up more than a 1/16 crank it down more. some play is ok..

Thanks for the assist but I have found the problem! In the PDf downloadable from the sigt, it says to subtract for long and add for short. In the Carvewright C manual, it says exactly the opposite. When I was a field tech, we called instructions "destructions".
Cheers!

good find! so to make the board read longer you subtracted right?

Opposite. to make the board read correctly, I had to add to the default setting. now consistently reads within .002-.004". very tight for my Carvewright. :)
