I was on Amazon today and saw 2 different carvewright versions for sale. NO1 and version C, with a $100 price difference. Any one know what the difference is?

Not sure what the N01 is but it has to be pre-version C; pay the extra $100. The version C has the carvetight chuck and is suppose to have heavier duty electronics. We've updated our machine to the carvetight chuck ( I believe that that was a $120 part, plus we had to install it) and we are happy enough with that upgrade that if we purchase another older machine that is the first thing that we will do to it.

I believe my machine is an NO1. I bought it in early 2007. There have been several upgrades between the NO1 and the "C", any of which could cost $100 or more.

The funny thing is, version C is the cheaper model by $100

NO1 was always just Amazon's designation or Item # for the CarveWright (version A, B, and now C). It does look like they are now advertising a CW005 (the "C"). I would then assume you would see one of them go away. There should not be any new version A or B's out there. Only version C.

A used machine for now is most likely an A or B version. I haven't heard of any C's being sold used.

I bought my last CW from Amazon last July and it was a "C". When I ordered it I didn't know which model it was so I must of ordered the NO1.
