Ok, I'm having a hard time geetting this thru my buddy's head about the width and the length of a project. I finally found the picture in the manual that shows the orientation of the board on the machine to the software, and I'm hoping this will stick in his head....I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one.... But would it be safe to put it to him this way.....width is top to bottom of a project and length is how long the board you feed into the machine is? I don't have a problem with this myself but Tom just can't grasp this concept for some reason, he gets confused because of how the projects looks on the computer to how it comes out of the machine.... any suggestions how to pound this into his head...nicely? Thanks guys

Jerry,

I remember Rob (HighTechOkie (http://forum.carvewright.com/member.php?1314-HighTechOkie)) did a nice graphic showing the layout on machine versus the software.

May be something simple will click for him

Where is the width of the pencil, and where is the length of the pencil

A little addition to the pencil project might make it easier to understand width and length as well as screen/machine orientation.

I think his light just lit up when he seen the pencil on a board...... I know I sometimes have problems saying what I'm thinking or trying to get across but I do think Tom came to see the light. he says thanks and so do I....
