OK, been holding off on updating the software - using 1.164 at home, 1.170 at the office. Waited due to some problems with 1.171.

Now, I am at a place where I don't think I've got a choice.

Did a 12 hour scan over the weekend (it's pretty large - over 2 megs).

Uploading it into 1.164 PE, crashes when I try to save it.

I've read where this was something of a problem with 1.164 (can anyone confirm that?)

Do you think 1.175 will solve my problems? And, are there any bugs with the new version??

Thanks.

There are a few bugs with 1.175, but I think the most serious ones deal with double sided carvings. LHR is supposed to be releasing a patch soon for the double sided issue.

OK, so I've got 1.175, and 1.171 ready to upload - which one should I use/will give me the least problems?

I had 1.175 had a problem with 2 sided carve so I reverted to 1.171 and no more problem and talk to to LHR and they are still working on the 1.175

1.175 does have a few minor bugs, which have been addressed, as previously posted. Thanks Fletcher for letting him know. A release date for the fix isn't known yet, but hopefully it will be soon.

As far as the Pattern Editor crashing, it could be caused by a multitude of things, but without actually diagnosing the issue, it would be hard to specify right now what the issue is.

Thanks, guys.

Going to 1.175 eliminated my crashing problem - now, I need to figure out why my pattern's edges, etc., are off when I go to outline it....

Hi Jerry,

Could you provide a few details as far as the edges/outlines? Perhaps a sample MPC and/or a photo would help us understand what you are experiencing.

Weird - Ver 1.175 on one computer - outline of pattern is waaay offset. Ver 1.170 on another computer, outline of pattern is perfect.

Post the MPC, or if it is a purchased pattern attach a snapshot with the offset highlighted.

That is a mystery! I haven't noticed any trouble with the outlines in 1.175.

Dumb question for you...Are you sure they are offset and not just due to viewing the board with the Perspective View turned on? The Perspective View can give the "appearance" of an offset, but in reality, none exists. Turning off the Perspective View eliminates this optical illusion.

MT - I believe you may be the smartest man I know (or I'm the dumbest you know).

Played with the perspective in 1.170, and got the same effect - I'll bet I've got it set to high on 1.175 at home.

Hello Jerry,

I don't think that you would be the dumbest or any of us.

It just happens to be that Michael might be the smartest, I know he is way out in front of me on his knowage of our beloved CC & CW's.

Jerry, sincerely over the years I have learned a lot from your postings on the forum and your displaying of your work also.

Thank you Michael for all you have shared with me and helped me with and that goes out also to you Jerry and the other's on this forum also.

Ha! I'm going to send the link for this to some friends, relatives, and my wife too. <smile>

rc - you are way too kind.

I'm going on three years with my machine now, and I cannot imagine having done it without the Forum...I learn something new everyday, from literally everyone who posts, or replies to a post. Every single time I've had a problem, it was due to operator error, or not understanding what I was doing, or trying to do. Without this Forum, I'd have given up a long time ago.

I've never had more fun or gotten more satisfaction out of a tool than this one, and I've got a couple of 'em.

Hi Robert,

Thank you. We all learn so much from each other, on and off the forum. Everyone is so willing to help, it's mind-boggling!

Say, don't forget to let me know how the chocolate mold comes out!

While I'm at it, MT - I was searching the scanning probe/PE threads yesterday, and came across one from you way back in 2007 - the question involved copy and paste in PE - you stated that it wasn't functional, but would be in the works shortly - wassup with that?

*****EDIT*****

I stand corrected - It was Jeff, not you, MT.

I haven't heard anything, nor asked about it for quite awhile. I guess I just forgot about it.
