Since getting my machine this past Friday I have done a few practice carvings, but here is the first real thing I have done.

It's just a simple house number sign in pine for the inlaws (showing the machine off to the father-in-law today).

Cheers,

very nice Jeff, I see it didn't take you long to get the hang of it.

I like the style you came up with, using the lion on the medallion. How do you plan on finishing it? It looks to be made of pine, so remember if it's going to be outside, to use a "marine" finish to repel water. There are some good "spar poly" finishes out there. Be sure and post the finished picts! Keep up the good work.

I concur with the above opinions. Very nice.

My father-in-law is going to finish it himself (he is a woodworker as well), I'll get some pics the next time I'm down there.

can you post the project file as well? I am new and trying to trouble shoot a few of my similar projects.

Thanks,

Very nice design. Could you post the file? Always interested in how others are doing their projects.

I posted it the other day over here:

This is my base design I then replaced the lilly with the lion.

Jeff, did you instruct the program to cut out the outline or just outline it and you cut it with a jigsaw?

Everything was done on the machine. I had to create the outer oval with a series of arcs (traced over an oval drawn with the oval tool) as ovals and circles can't be broken. This allowed a continious line to describe the outside shape and be cut with the cut tool.
