I wanted to see what the above project would do in 1.171....

The Contour Text is not seen unless you select it....

Thanks Al,

That's exactly what I thought it would look like,
Ya save me from having to set up my older Designer Versions
on my Lap top to look at it.

One thing I see the conform will not do is conform to vectors. Often if I have a flat carve region I do so with vectors and the 3/8 bit rather than the carving bit. Maybe that's in another version?

OK, I can see the value of this now. Thanks to those who uploaded photos

No, you cannot conform vectors to other vectors. Imagine if you had both vectors set to 'conform' - the software would go crazy!

Note that large changes in topography will cause vectors to carve in multiple passes - don't freak out... its doing the right thing.
Also note that an attempt to conform a vector to the full depth of a board may result in the chuck (QC or CT) touching the board. It's less likely to happen on the QC, but with the CT, its best to put a second 1/4" spacer on the bit before loading it into the CT. This is especially needed for the "short" bits like the V90 and V60.

Attached are some samples of early tests.

It's a gear, imported as a DXF, double-sided, with a dome region, centerline conformed to the center.

Testing centerline across multiple varying regions.

brdad, Metallus,

Thanks for the heads-up --- Not that I'd freak-out
It Might save me some Hand Wringing and Hair Pulling!

Ps. But than again, ----It could be be incorporated into some interesting carving projects, --Just an Idea to think about

I got a late last minute request late Thursday night to do up some softball award plaques for a good friend for this coming Monday night. While trying to do the layout design with everything he wanted, I took advantage of the new conform feature and put the players numbers into the ball glove. Worked like a charm..

I have it now. I whipped up a few clocks to cut tomorrow. Need to change the Cut Motor Brushes first.... Had a fail to start... Tap with screwdriver.... started....

This is going to save me SO much time....

Will be cutting a new Tag product with the CW tomorrow... a $220.00 order..... Got a nibble for a 100 tag order too from the Philly Show.... $1500.00 nibble.... Sent a Quote... Wouldn't be possible without the CW...

How about a section in help on the conform button??

A training vid. would be nice also.

When you select the text that you want to conform you just click the box at the top of designer and it magically works... I have 2 conform text on the Maltese Cross's and cut 3 clocks last night.... The text is PERFECT !!!!!!!!!

On some VERY old projects I needed to delete the text and re type it.... ??? But it worked the second time.

Question, I can see the centerline text in the carve regions in the photos but when I open the file with designer there is no text there, is that because I don't have the new add on program yet?

CJ ..........think it's worth the money?

Hi Jerry,

Your right --- If you don't have conform set up in Designer --You won't be able to see it.
As for me, I think it's well worth it!
