The CarveWright can work in most soft materials including all woods (including exotic hardwoods), plastic, and foam. Suitable plastics are polycarbonate or cast acrylic. For reference, the picture of the woman's head shown on the Results page of the website is 14" by 18" and took about 90 minutes to carve in white polycarbonate. At present, the CarveWright does not carve in metal, ceramic tile, stone, glass, or concrete.

Is there going to be an option to choose platics or foams from the board settings dialog box?

Thanks,

Can the carvewright carve in soft metal? For example name plates and such.

Hey foxmuldr93,

AT this time the CW/CC machines still has open circuitry
and exposed wire and ribbon connections,
that could be shorted or damaged by any metal chips or shavings
moving around inside the machine. http://www.carvewright.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif

Just to add to Ken.
Also the feed rate for the bits is not changeable. Cutting metal I think would need the feed rate to be slowed down, compared to cutting wood.
