I listen to my Laptop Music, Sirius Radio, while I work in the Laser Shop on Speakers.... While I am in the Wood Shop and on the deck was the problem.... Outside Speakers don't always work well with the CW Cutting....

SO.. I bought a pair of Quality Ear Muffs with the FM Radio built in.... I bought a little FM Transmitter on eBay and with this setup.... Now I can listen to my music in the Wood Shop with a Boom Box on FM or with the Machine Running or out on the the deck with ear protection. And as a Bonus.... There is a website that transmits my local Fire, Police, and EMS.... 3 channels over the internet.... So when I call up that site I get music and the Scanner stuff.... I also run a regular scanner all day in the shop with all the action...

Now to get a tool talker and tie it into my system...... I worked out on my deck almost all day today sanding and staining. I had to remove one ear muff side to listen for the CW to stop for a bit change.... The Tool Talker would be fun.....

I had LHR send me the press release from February. I'm printing the main
part, where it speaks to Tool Talker, in the body of this mail.

The Web site does not show Tool Talker at present, nor does it point to
the phone number in the press release.

Press Release:
CARVEWRIGHT WELCOMES ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED
CUSTOMERS
Renowned Innovator for the Woodworking Tool Industry, Mario Salazar of
Salazar Solutions, Develops Speech System for CarveWright
PASADENA, TEXAS—February 23, 2010 LHR Technologies, creators and
manufacturers of the CarveWright Woodworking System along with renowned
tool innovation expert Mario Salazar of Salazar Solutions introduce a new
Assistive Technology for the blind and visually impaired. The ToolTalker
adds speech technology to the CarveWright Woodworking System.
The ToolTalker opens up opportunities for potential customers that may
have never before considered the machine, but also allows blind and
visually impaired customers to easily add this new assistive technology to
their carving system via a custom cable which connects the little black
box to the machine.
The system utilizes the classic “Stephen Hawking” signature voice with an
American accent, made notable by Hawking who preferred this voice and used
it for several years, “…because he identified with it and had not heard a
voice he liked better”.
System Features include:
• Translation of the machine LCD screen to a spoken format
• Expansion of symbols and abbreviations into spoken words
• Audio representation of the key being pressed
• Repeat of the current screen by pressing the “9” key
• Easy plug and play installation with no activation required
• Compatible with CarveWright Designer software version 1.161 and newer
• Available from www.salazarsolutions.com (http://www.salazarsolutions.com/)
Mario Salazar has created a line of digital tools including a digital
miter gauge and a digital protractor. His digital tools communicate to one
another creating a wireless network where they can actually “talk to” or
transfer data from one tool to the next. One customer of Mario’s
inventions, who happened to be blind, called and asked if he could add a
voice to his digital tools. Without hesitation Mario promised that he
would look into it. After just six months, he and his engineer had given
the tools a voice and now, that voice is available for use with the
CarveWright and CompuCarve Systems.

For more information or to order the ToolTalker, visit
