What ye opinion on these? I mostly use Walnut/Cherry/Ash & Oak for my carvings. Did a search for ZrN and found one comment which was same as non coated for result. September coming and I plan on getting a few more new 1/16 carving bits. Found these during the search;

Is the ZrN worth the extra $10??

In case you didnt know, that is Jeff Birt's website (on of our mods). I too have seen mixed reviews on ZrN coatings. My understanding is that brand new they will cut "slightly duller", than non-coated bits.. but will maintain the that level of sharpness much longer than the non-coated bits. I would suggest just getting one/two and trying them out yourself. It always nice to support other forum members as well.

Thanks Doug, didn't know that. Learned something new today, other than I can't find the legal description of my property letter that I need tomorrow. Looked fer 2 hours and of course wasn't where it was suppose to be.

But i could have sworn the precisebits does have some carvewright member relationship as well. perhaps someone in the know will jump in and correct my boo boo.
