Hello,

I just realized our Forum doesn't have a heading for posting information about our fellow members. (Maybe we need a "Misc." Heading of some kind?).

Most of you who have been members for awhile know of OldCop (Bernie Drowatzky). He called me last week to let me know he was going in for surgery on July 9th to have a kidney removed (had bleeding and possible cancer). He said recovery was going to take two or three weeks and gave me the phone number of the hospital so I could check on him.

Well, I finally got in touch with him today and good news! After a 5½ hour surgery, the docs were able to save his kidney and he is cancer-free! Turns out there was a large kidney stone and they were able to remove it and put everything back together.

He's being discharged from the hospital today. He will stay with his sister for about a week and then can go home "and get back to carving" as he put it. He sounds great and is doing very well. Just thought you might want to know!

Thanks for the update. That is great news to hear. I also agree it would be nice to have someplace to keep track of our "extended family"

Thanks Michael. It would be sad if we had not known what was going on with Bernie. Sounds like he is going to continue to do well.

Stones are no fun, I get them about every 3-4 years everysince I was in my 20's. Last was 9/16", and had to be removed internally using the laser.
Glad OldCop is doing better.
