I am new in the Carvwright Carving Hobby. I am using the Tips & Tricks (November 2007) I followed the instructions, measurments 11.25 X 11.25 X0.75. The Carvewrite Computor scale reads (4.276 X 11.25 X0.75). I have checked the Board Errors,as instructed on page 43 of manuel. The only thing I can find , is #5, the Rubber O-ring is missing from the brass wheel. My question is , what part does the "O" ring play, what size is it, and where can I purchase one. I know I can get one from Carvewright, but the last time i ordered from Carvewright, I paid $18.00 UPS shipping. Can anyone
assist me.

I do believe the O-ring aids in the tracking of your length or your "X" measurement. Do a search for "O-ring". They sell them at Home Depot by the bags. Also double check the machine and make sure it didnt fall through like maybe to the bottom underneath the square slot under the machine.

Deolman stated "O-rings are cheap at the hardware store. It is a 7/16" O.D X 5/16" I.D. The more grip you have to the board the better it is. Use both. Be sure to put it on the second groove, or the groove closest to the keypad. "
Here is that thread http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?15450-masking-tape-instead-of-o-ring&p=130665#post130665
