First project using the scanning probe

This is the fiirst thing scanned with the probe and then carved.

The carving has good detail. I carved it with white oak which left it a bit fuzzy. A couple of minutes with the sanding tool cleaned it up nicely.

This is my first attempt at painting, must improve in this area. One thing the paint does however is point out the detail captured by the probe. Especially in the wings and feet of the Eagle.

This is carved at about half the height of the original.

How big was the design you scanned?

It was 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. It was part of a bronze Plaque. At the highest point it was 1 1/4 inches.
